Special Touches For Your Wedding Photography

by

Your special day may be a year off or just around the corner, but you need to start thinking about your wedding photography as soon as possible.  There is more to wedding pictures than posing against the altar on your wedding day, and planning ahead will make your experience better.

Use your Environment for Great Shots

You don’t have to limit yourself to taking pictures only on your wedding day.  Schedule a day with your photographer and head out to some of the best Arizona wedding sites for pictures.  The Grand Canyon is a wonderful place to pose and take some shots.  The rich colors of the rocks set against a white dress and tuxedo make for beautiful additions to your album.

If you have a special spot, perhaps the place where he proposed, get a few pictures there as well.  Local parks, fountains and sculpture gardens make for interesting backgrounds.  If you have access to a botanical garden at the right time of year, few other places will beat it for beauty.  Think creatively and you will end up with some of your favorite pictures.

Anticipate Which Shots you Want from your Ceremony

There are some shots which every photographer will strive to shoot on your big day.  You with your parents, the two of you together, your first dance and so on.  If there is something special you want, make sure you write it down.

If your reception is taking place somewhere special, get some shots of the party venue.  They can even be done in advance when the weather is particularly accommodating.  If the photographer can get into the dining hall early, they can take pictures of the tables set up before anything happens providing a before and after effect.

Consider some Black and White

In our modern age of digital photography, instant gratification and routine retouching, many people forget how stunning black and white photos look.  There is something particularly intense about a good black and white picture; it softens the aspect at the same time that it sharpens the details.

Some digital cameras will keep the same quality when a picture is digitally converted to black and white, but many lose detail in the process.  If your photographer has a Hasselblad camera that takes black and white pictures, ask them to bring it along.  The quality is amazing.

Taking special pictures that will represent your wedding day both accurately and romantically involves a bit of preparation and planning.  The results are more than worth the effort.
